Compulsory Leave Days

Compulsory Work Days

You can configure Compulsory Days to mark days when employees are either required to take Leave, or are not permitted to take Leave. Compulsory Leave Days are those on which employees must take leave, for example, between Christmas and New Year. Compulsory Work Days are those on which there is a business requirement for employees to work, and therefore cannot take leave.

Compulsory Leave Days

Go to Leave > Admin & Config > Compulsory Days > Compulsory Leave Days.

Click the New Compulsory Leave Day button and a dialog will pop up. Enter the details of the Compulsory Leave Day and click save.

You can choose which Leave Type the Compulsory Leave Days are submitted as, which will determine if these requests deduct from employees' allowances or not.

If an employee already has Leave scheduled which clashes with the Compulsory Leave Day, it will not be created for them.

When you click Create, the Leave Days will be added as pre-approved requests within your employees' calendars.

You can check this by going to the Year at a Glance view or the Team Calendar.

Compulsory Work Days

Go to Leave > Admin & Config > Compulsory Days > Compulsory Work Days.

Click the New Compulsory Work Day button and a dialog will pop up. Enter the details of the Compulsory Work Day and click save.

When you click create, the days will be added to the Year at a Glance view as not permitted.

Employees will still have the ability to submit a leave request which takes place on a Compulsory Work Day, however they will be prompted with a clash message and the ability to change the dates.

If the employee chooses to proceed with the request, they will need to provide a reason.

The manager will also be notified that the request clashes with a work period.

The approver must provide a message and if approved, all HR Managers will be notified.
