Can the last performance review date auto update?

When completing a performance review, can it automatically update the "performance data / last performance review" date field?  Also, when completing a performance review and you schedule the next one, can that also then auto update the "performance data / next performance review" date please?  
This would mean I could run a report on the performance review status of employees without asking them to manually update a date entry field (as my report is always going to be inaccurate).
